Quality Assessment, Class Wrap-Up

Thanks
As we prepare to wrap up our long, strange trip together, we first want to thank all you for participating in our class. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to use our Federal grant funding to support you, and hope that the class, MSSC certification, and college credits serve you well throughout your manufacturing career.

Thank you.

Exam Overview
Now onto business: The Quality exam is this week. This unit has the smallest amount of material to cover, but the exam is a bear. Please take time to study and prepare.

Study Plan of Attack
As always, I suggest reading the entire unit, module by module, and also reviewing the Maintenance unit that covered print reading (Module 2). As you read the modules, please complete the vocabulary workbook. Be sure to also complete all of the related Mind-Sight materials, including quizzes.

As I mentioned for the last exam, you may wish to outline the materials as you read them; this helps a great deal in boiling down the material to a manageable amount, and provides you with a study guide you can use to prepare for the exam.

You can find our vocabulary workbook here.

Once you have completed the tasks above, use your outline or notes as a review guide and begin to study for the exam. Once you are feeling comfortable with the material, please complete the practice test found here:

Do not review the answers to the practice test until  you have answered all questions. Then, check your answers against the key, and determine where you need to focus your energies. Review all materials, but place a special emphasis on those areas where you scored poorly on the practice test.

Resetting Quiz Scores
If you need your quizzes reset in Mind-Sight, please let us know. They will be checking e-mail periodically throughout the long weekend.

Certificates
As we have mentioned in class, there are a total of five certificates you can receive from this class: One for each of the tested units (Safety, Maintenance, Production and Processes, Quality), and a final one that declares you a Certified Production Technician; the final one is what you'll need to show the school if you wish to articulate the 15 credit hours towards your AS degree.

Certificates come from the MSSC, and are not printed by us. They generally take anywhere from 4 to 12 weeks for delivering all certificates after the end of a class. Once we have them, we'll reach out to you to determine the best way for delivery/pick up. Please be patient with us as we work with the MSSC to get your certificates.

Retests/Missed Tests
For those of you who have need to retest or take a missed exam, please contact Jason Selfridge (Polk State) Glenn Goonis (SCF) or Joe Gabovitz (TCC) to schedule time/date/place for retests. We would like to have all of these squared away by June 1.

Remember, retests are $40 each, which is the cost that we pay, without markup.

Thanks again, and feel free to e-mail with questions that you may have..
